Every Thursday night, LÓA Restaurant shines a light on Reykjavik’s most promising young bands.

The Next Generation concert series features artists from Center Studios – Reykjavik, a creative hub closely connected to Iceland’s top music schools. It’s where young musicians, many still in their teens, form bands, write original music, and grow into their sound and stage confidence.

Tonight’s band: Dora and the Dates (aka Dóra & Döðlurnar)

They bring bold girl-pop rock energy and fresh original music straight from Reykjavík. With a nod to their craft, they’ve earned special songwriting awards at the prestigious ʻBattle of the Bands’ competition and you’ll also recognise some of the members from their participation in the national semi-final competition for Söngvakeppnin, Iceland’s entry-path to the Eurovision Song Contest.
